Another Step Forward

My local after work spot opening back up plus a nice rain bump equals happy Kevin! While I can't do downstream trips on Section 6 yet due to the takeout still being closed, at least having Ledges Park reopened allows for the possibility of some park and play trips. If you have a bachelor / bachelorette party or other large group, we're now able to book it.

Very glad to celebrate every small victory in WNC's recovery from Helene and while I'm glad some of my favorite rapids are unchanged, there have also been changes to the park and trail to the put in. Not only did the shore see around 80 - 100k cfs of water ripping through, but later heavy equipment had to be brought in for clean up. Trails are made, not born though so hopefully I can get in with a machete and re-clear the path. Not all of the changes are bad either - there's a new little beach ( about 10 foot wide ) at one spot along the trail.
